White sage (scientific name: salvia apiana) also called sacred sage, is a fragrant perennial herb, traditionally used by indigenous communities in ceremonial practices and rituals. Today it is commonly used by feng shui practitioners, and used as incense or to promote harmony by cleansing/purifying the air of negative energy.

The Latin word for sage, salvia, stems from the word, heal.
